Digital Music Distribution and Internet Radio Webcast

DigitalJournal and John McDonald carried a news story as far back as November 25, 2001 on the future of radio in the traditional way.

This article said that companies like Iceberg Media, RadioMoi and Moontaxi have attracted thousand of consumers by using Internet radio stations. It said that Internet radio stations offer many advantages over their traditional predecessor, empowering individuals to choose their own listening criteria.

The listener can customize his experience - that's why Rap4aBuck(RAB) should be of interest to artists who want to be a part of the next generation of musicians. The artist gets to promote and sell his music to the individuals that are most interested in his genre as opposed to being lumped in with all genres and getting lost in the shuffle so to speak.

We have entered the next era of music as the channels of distribution change to offer consumers even greater choices. Don't be afraid to add your thoughts on this subject.

The future of radio will be Internet webcast and for the artist, this means a brand new frontier. Imagine that your listening audience is no longer restricted to signal range on Hot 97FM but to anyone who has access to a computer on the planet.

Independent Hip Hop Gets a New iDownload Outlet

Artists Submit Music 3-Songs or Album

A brand new website, Rap4aBuck, has been launched to lend credence, get exposure and sell the music of small independent record labels and artists in the genres of Hip Hop, Rap, Reggae and R&B. The label or artist can sign up FREE of charge to submit music, 3-songs and as many as 24-songs to the catalog. The consumer can listen to music for FREE, buy one track/song via mp3 download or purchase a whole album at a price 25% lower than at a retail outlet.

As the name suggest, Rap4aBuck, will be $1.00 for each downloaded song. The consumer can download as many songs as he likes. Record labels and artists get to recoup studio time, mixing, production, artwork design and other incidentals immediately. Labels and artists save time and money by avoiding the need to manufacture CDs. The consumer gets the latest original hip hop music via mp3 download thus avoiding shipping costs and can buy ONLY what he likes.

A spokesman for Rap4aBuck.com, Nathan Clump, said that the new site would feature ads from individuals and corporations. In addition, an intense PR campaign will be launched over the next two months as new artists are recruited to submit their original tracks to the site. Also, strategic alliances will be formed with small independent record labels and artists in the near future. Rap4aBuck is the indie artist and record label's alternative to iTunes except that it will focus only on the niche markets of rap, hip hop, RnB and Reggae music.

For a limited time only, labels and artists are encouraged to promote themselves using Rap4aBuck.com. As part of the signup package, a FREE web page is given to add profiles, including pictures and sound tracks. Small indie record labels and artists can add links to websites, send out email to databases or send out flyers all in support of their music at their new 24-hour online storefront, Rap4aBuck.com.

The first independent record label to take advantage of this innovative method of delivering music to the consumer is eMultimediaGroup. Recently teaming up with Jair Dynast to release his producer album, "Curriculum Vitae" on December 7, 2004, eMultimedia Group saw the new web site as a great way to secure additional online sales worldwide for their flagship artist.
